The series is being extensively "refreshed" for Japanese television. This is not a new animation, but rather a remastered edit that runs through certain events of Dragon Ball Z. Part of this is reformatting and extending the picture to 16:9 Widescreen.

"As Goku begins his battle against Buu, who demonstrates an ability to copy other people's techniques, Trunks arrives at Capsule Corporation but struggles to find where the Dragon Radar is. Bulma soon realises she had left the Dragon Radar in her aeroplane and manages to inform Trunks about it. Sensing Trunks has accomplished his mission, Goku undoes his transformation and takes his leave after informing Buu that Trunks and Goten will be ready to fight him in two days.

Dragon Ball Kai 2014 Episode 127 - Standing Up For Himself, Buu's Rebellion!

The April issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine is announcing on Friday that a new Dragon Ball Kai anime series will premiere on Sunday, April 6 at 9:00 a.m. on Fuji TV. The "new age of Kai" will cover the Majin Buu Saga.
